Several years ago, I had a tradition, when Spring was approaching and the days were getting longer, I had to go up north in Sweden, to say goodbye to the winter in a decent manner, by making a cross-country ski trip in the wilderness of Lappland. On this special trip, in Easter 1987, we had chosen to move a little further westwards to stay on the Norwegian side of the border. But the long train ride was the same, although a little troublesome this time, as the hydrofoils between Copenhagen and Malmö didn't sail because of too much ice in Øresund. But after a 30 hours' ride, we finally got off the train in Katterat to start our expedition up through Sørdalen. |
