| I had not been visiting the Dolomites particularly much, and on the few occasions I had been in this mountain area in Italy, weather had always been bad. But actually you can have a spell of good weather in the Dolomites, and when I as a prelude to the Alpine trip of summer 2007 I was looking for a small mountain area with good weather, then a search on various homepages showed that the Dolomites was the place to be, with the best chance of good weather. Therefore we drove the long way to the Dolomites, and finally chose to pitch our camp in Colfosco. |
