I had come to Esfahan in Iran with Christian to climb a 4000-metre peak or two out behind Shahr-e Kord, a town about 100 km to the west. But after having arrived in Esfahan we could no longer get in touch with our contact in Teheran, as a minor earthquake had cut the connections. Now, while we were here we would like to climb a mountain anyhow, so after a cosy tea and water pipe at Emam Square we decided to climb the landmark of the city instead, the mountain which could be seen from all over the city. |
