In 2010 I had gone with my travel mate Erik to Argentina to do some kind of exploration journey to Cerro Mercedario, a mountain which I four years earlier had become enarmoured of when climbing Aconcagua, That mountain I wanted to have a closer look on, so I organized an expedition up through Valle del Colorado to the mountain. During the first day of the walk-in I had been told that we had to cross the river seven times before we would reach base camp, and here on the second day of the walk-in we began the morning by crossing the river for the third time.
