| I saw Kåtotjåkka for the first time in 1980 when I hiked south on the Kungsleden trail from Abisko to Kebnekaise, but then the mountain was only one among the many other mountains standing out in the north of Kebnekaise. So it was not before the following year, when I hiked on the left bank of Alesätno, that I noticed the big mountain on the right bank. Especially as the north face of the mountain during the night was bathed in the light of the midnight sun. |
