In 2008 I was the leader of the danish Gasherbrum expedition, a mountaineering expedition, which purpose not only was to reach the Gasherbrum massive in northern Pakistan, but also climb Gasherbrum II, a more than 8000 metre high mountain, which had not been climbed by Danes yet. As a back-up and basecamp manager I had allied with my trustworthy travel mate Erik Storm, which both had been with me on my first trip to Nepal in 1988 and the expedition to Makalu in 1997. |
