Kauma, 11.350 ft. (Steffen Walton).
Tuesday evening we pitched camp in Kauma (11.350 ft.) after a hard trekking
day. Kauma is the last campsite with water before the three passes guarding the
entrance to Makalu. The trekking days begin with coffee served in the tents at
5:30 a.m., followed by breakfast before setting out at 7 a.m. For the time being
we are one day behind schedule, but we plan to catch up within the next few
days. Come to Nepal, my son, it's great! In a few days we will be entering the
polar region. It's hard to believe when we between the showers are trekking,
just wearing shorts.
