(Steffen Walton).
It is difficult to get in contact with the expedition, as they are dependent
on their solar panels making power to the satellite phone and the laptop. And as
it has been raining for weeks by now, it has made it difficult to charge the
batteries. Last time we heard from them they were keeping to schedule and are
using the days climbing up and down the mountain to adapt the body to the thin
air. In the altitude they are entering, the oxygen content in the air correspond
to living from the oxygen left in your expiration air. For the time being there
are another five expeditions on Makalu, two of which are having major problems
with altitude sickness. The problem with the solar cells makes it impossible to
answer questions too.
